Travel

Donald Richie, The Inland Sea (1971; rpt. Berkeley: Stone Bridge Press, 2002), p. 156:
Travel hopefully broadens those who travel. It usually narrows those who have to deal with the travelers. Maybe they just see too many peopleā€”an experience that will always make one dissatisfied and irritable. I read somewhere that we only have tolerance for about fifty new people a day. After that we become snappish.
